Pre-enrollment assistance information

Pre-enrollment assistance is a service that helps individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and their family members apply for brain injury services offered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania provides Pre-enrollment Assistance to help individuals with TBI enroll in the Department of Health’s Head Injury Program and/or other brain injury services offered in the Commonwealth.  The Association is available to assist individuals in their home, community, or hospital. 

The Association’s Pre-enrollment Assistance Coordinators will provide information about the Head Injury program as well as other programs available in Pennsylvania such as the COMMCARE Waiver, the OBRA Waiver, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation programs and other community based services. will help individuals obtain and complete the paperwork needed to become enrolled in the Head Injury Program or other brain injury services.  These Coordinators will also:
Assist with getting medical records.

  • Assist individuals and family members in identifying the best resources and programs to meet rehabilitation needs.
  • Assist with getting a completed Physician Statement.
  • Assist in choosing a Head Injury Program rehabilitation provider for the assessment.
  • Help make transportation arrangements needed.
