Committees

The Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania is a 501(c)(3) membership organization with a dedicated Board of Directors. The work of the Association is largely accomplished through volunteers serving on the following Standing and Regular Committees.  If you are intersted in joining any of these committees, contact the Assocation  at info@biapa.org  , 1-866-735-7094

  • Executive Committee - conducts the affairs of the Association on a daily basis under the direction of the Board
  • Board Development Committee - nominates qualified candidates to the Board in accordance with the By-Laws, and for providing education and training to the Board and Officers for the purpose of enhancing the success of the Association
  • Finance Committee - oversees the accounting and auditing firms, monitors the cash flow and budgeting for the organization, monitors the use of all resources for effective use and compliance with all requirements and fund restrictions.  Prepares budget for next fiscal year.
  • Development Committee - responsible for identifying possible resources such as donations, bequests, dues, grants, fundraising events, in kind services, partners program
  • Planning Committee - responsible for formulating and proposing to the Board plans for activities and projects for the Association, and for preparing an Annual Plan and a long term Strategic Plan that assures the Association is working towards goals and objectives
  • Communication Committee - responsible for communicating to the entire brain injury community in Pennsylvania including communicating with support groups and support group facilitators, responsible for the BIAPA newsletter, and doing public relations work for the Association including drafting press releases, placing stories
  • Advocacy Committee - responsible for representing and advocating the Association's position in government affairs including education for both state and federal representatives
  • Outreach  Programs Committee - responsible for oversight and monitoring of the Association's programs including Support Group Coordination, Pre-Entollment Assistance, School Re-Entry and Emergency Medical Training
  • Annual Conference Committee - develops, organizes, and implements an Annual "State of the Art" Conference for the purpose of education and advocacy for persons with brain injury, family members, legislators, and professionals working in the field of brain injury.
